Design documents obtained by The Tennessean place the airport station by the terminal front door, in the taxi and limousine pickup area. The airport authority approved the deal in February, but The Boring Company has not signed it yet.

The infrastructure ministry expects the terminal's building permit in December 2026, after 94 test piles were completed. State bank BGK is in early talks on loans of up to 20 bn zł, as EU funding for the rail link looks unlikely.

The Hudson County shaft has reached bedrock 80 ft below street level. Controlled blasting to about 130 ft is due to start in production as early as November 2 and run into early next year.

The first 217 m tunnel element was positioned off Rødbyhavn in May 2026, with more following. A new overall timetable is due once the first six elements are in place.
