An immersed road and rail tunnel under the Baltic Sea, built from giant concrete segments cast in a factory on the Danish coast and floated into place.
It will cut the trip between Copenhagen and Hamburg significantly. Construction delays on the German rail connection are the part to watch.

The first 217 m tunnel element was positioned off Rødbyhavn in May 2026, with more following. A new overall timetable is due once the first six elements are in place.
