The last tower of the World Trade Center master plan. Its foundation and podium sat finished for years while the site waited for an anchor tenant, because office supertalls almost never get financed on speculation.
That tenant arrived in 2026: American Express will occupy and eventually own the building as its global headquarters, with room for up to 10,000 employees. Groundbreaking was in July 2026 and completion is targeted for 2031.
