A hotel supertall just off Times Square with about 825 rooms, an observation deck and a thrill ride hanging off the top. The attractions are the business model: observation decks have become some of the most profitable square footage in Manhattan.
Construction stalled in March 2024 and restarted in June 2025. By August 2026 the tower had reached its halfway point, with full height expected in 2027 and completion in the second half of 2028.

- Hyatt's StandardX named hotel operator
Hyatt was named hotel partner for the Torch, bringing its StandardX brand to North America with an 1,800-room hotel at 255 West 45th Street. It follows the $1.25 billion JPMorgan-led construction financing Extell secured in September.
Source - Status: past halfway, full height due 2027
Construction restarted in June 2025 after a stall and the tower passed its halfway point in August 2026. Full height is expected in 2027, with completion in the second half of 2028.
