An undersea road tunnel under the Boknafjord north of Stavanger, set to be the longest and deepest road tunnel of its kind in the world, reaching 392 m below sea level. It is part of the plan for a ferry-free E39 along Norway's west coast.
Work began in 2018 and was paused in 2019 after costs rose, then restarted. The final main contract was signed in 2024, and opening is planned for 2033.
