Georgetown's best-known hotel, on the seawall in Kingston, open since 1969 and long described as the tallest building in Guyana. The city is mostly low and built of wood, and its tallest landmarks for decades were the hotel and St. George's Cathedral, one of the tallest wooden churches in the world. The hotel has meeting and event space, several restaurants, a sky lounge and an outdoor pool.
It is owned by Robert Badal's RJR Investments & Holdings, which added the Pegasus Suites & Corporate Centre next door in 2022 and plans a Hyatt Regency tower beside it for 2028. The Skyscraper Center lists the hotel at 32 meters and 7 floors, while older Emporis figures give about 39.5 meters. The original developer and architect have not been confirmed for this page.
