JPMorgan's new global headquarters on Park Avenue. To build it, the bank took down its previous 52-floor home, the former Union Carbide Building, one of the tallest buildings ever demolished on purpose.
Midtown rezoning in 2017 let the bank buy unused air rights from nearby landmarks like Grand Central and build much taller. It is a case study in how air rights shape New York's skyline.
